Defending Junior Women's champ/Billabong surfer Keenan Lineback waited until the heat's halfway mark before riding a single wave, which wound up being enough (plus a lil' backup score) to hold off Brevard County wahines Jasset Umbel and Savannah Bradley, who were doing the Rocky-and-Apollo-circa-Rocky 3 thing up the beach toward the groin while Keenan decided their fate all by her lonesome.

Keenan was not able to attend the awards ceremony because she had to leave early to attend a swim meet.  See Raven's email to her below:

Yeah Keenan! Big Congrats on another East Coast title.

I thought it was so hilarious when they were doing the awards and instead of you being there because you were off to a swim meet some man in suspenders stood in for you to receive your trophy. It was classic! Dude in his mid 30's wearing suspenders next to 3 other young women getting the 1st place trophy for the jr women's division. All time.
