Montreal, QC (Mar. 28th, 2010) – Billabong’s Flaunt It snowboard tour, which is a 3* TTR event came to an end at Mont Tremblant, QC this past weekend as part of the Telus Spin Festival.
Girls from Canada, the United States and across the globe came to compete at the final event in hopes of bringing their share of the $10,000 prize purse and TTR points. With some colder than expected the conditions, the course was firm but the girls weren’t deterred from throwing down. In the Slopestyle final it was Lynn Neil from Salt Lake City, Utah that most impressed the judging panel, which included Billabong’s Anne-Flore Marxer who came over from France to judge at the event. Neil rode strongly all day, solidifying her win with some solid rail riding, and capping off her run with a cab 5 to backside 7 on the final two booters. Neil also took home the Dakine Best Trick award with her backside 7, bringing her total prize winnings to over $5,000 for the day. Asked about her win, Neil said ‘I’m so stoked to have made it up here, and couldn’t be happier to be taking home first place, some TTR points, and the cash’. Second place went to Jenna Blasman, with last year’s tour finals winner Molly Milligan rounding out the podium. Blasman and Milligan both took home $2,000 and $1,000 respectively for their 2nd and 3rd place efforts.
In the afternoons Best Trick Rail Jam, it was Molly Milligan and Jenna Blasman who stole the show. With both girls vying for the Best Trick title, it was no holds barred on the rails. In the end, Molly Milligan locked in first place and the $700 prize with a switch BS 180 on front 180 to switch back 180 off. Not to be denied though, Jenna Blasman took home both second and third place cheques with a back tail bagel out and a front 270 on and off.
