How old where you when you started snowboarding? 10 years old
Who or what inspires you? Just asked my mom and she pointed to herself…
What is your most treasured possession? Today it's my lynx hat. I don't know what it will be tomorrow.
What do you most value in your friends? We have a solid crew – a real pack of gigglers. No catty BS.
If you could meet one person, dead or alive, who would it be? Russell Brand.
If money were no object, what is the first thing you would do? I'd buy a nice collection of antique cars.
What do you like the most about Billabong? The people, the product, the Design For Humanity party.
Favorite songs while shredding: Top 40.
Favorite snowboard video part? Ah this one kills me. I like a lot of the smaller, low budget movies because the riders have to be creative.
What do you do besides snowboard? Dabble with a bit of school, hang at the beach in NS, and truck around Montreal the rest of the time.
In your industry which athlete do you most admire? Torah, Jamie - they're both badass.
Accomplishments:
2012/2011
7th Mountain Dew Tour Snow Basin, UT
2011/2010
Alternate 2010 Canadian Olympic Halfpipe Team
3rd Ride Shakedown Mont Saint-Sauveur, QC
1st Canadian National Championships Mont Tremblant, QC
3rd World Cup COP, AB
Alex Duckworth grew up riding the hills of Ski Martock in Nova Scotia 14 years ago, and
has come a long way from her hometown slopes. Duckworth has proven her abilities
not only as a pipe rider, but also as a slopestyle rider with some serious talent.
Duckworth has been a member of the Canadian National Snowboard team since 2008 and is training hard with the Canadian team as an Olympic hopeful for Sochi 2014. She
spends most of the winter on the road, hopping from contest to contest competing with top athletes at the Winter Dew Tour and Burton Opens. In the summer Duckworth can be found coaching and training at Camp of Champions, or sailing the open seas of Nova Scotia.
